Ukraine saw little hope of pulling any more survivors from the rubble of an apartment block in the city of Dnipro on Sunday, a day after the building was hit during a major Russian missile attack, with dozens of people expected to have died. The regional governor's adviser, Natalia Babachenko, said 35 people were confirmed dead so far and more than 30 were in hospital, including 12 in a serious condition. Between 30 to 40 people could still be trapped under debris, she said.
With the death toll standing at 45, and 19 people still missing, rescuers have abandoned the mission to find survivors of Russia's missile strike on a Dnipro apartment building on Saturday.
Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, says a Russian strike on a residential block in Dnipro on Saturday the 14th of January, which killed at least 40 people, constitutes a "war crime". "Innocent civilians, including children, lost their lives or were wounded in this horrific attack" he says, "let me be very clear, intentional attacks against civilians are war crimes".
A strike on a residential building in the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro has killed at least 21 and wounded more than 70, officials said, as the president blasted Russian "terror". Rescuers dig through the rubble of the damaged building after the deadly strike.
After a day of relentless strikes, five people are reported dead and 27 injured in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro, after a large complex was hit.
