Sudan’s military suspended its participation in talks with a paramilitary force it's been battling for weeks for control of the northeastern African country, a military spokesman said Wednesday. FRANCE 24's Bastien Renouil tells us more.
Sudan's top general said Friday the military remains committed to a transition to civilian rule, in his first speech since brutal fighting between his forces and the country's powerful paramilitary began nearly a week ago.
The Sudanese armed forces and its former allies, the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces group, are battling after tensions over a proposed transition to civilian rule.
