The new Toyota GR 86 is the third independent model from the Toyota Gazoo Racing brand. The trio benefits from its commitment to top international motor sport, which has brought the manufacturer several world championship titles in recent years. The new coupé enables a broader audience to enter the Gazoo Racing portfolio and thus access to a sporty driving experience. The GR 86 is a further development of the Toyota GT86 and retains its classic configuration of front engine and rear-wheel drive. The engine is still a lively four-cylinder boxer engine, the displacement of which has been increased to 2.4 liters for more torque and power. Technical adjustments to the engine and transmission ensure uniform, powerful acceleration across the entire engine speed range. In order to improve responsiveness and handling, the engineers have concentrated on weight reduction and a further lowering of the vehicle's center of gravity. Through the use of aluminum and other light and at the same time stable materials as well as the strategic reinforcement of the vehicle frame, the rigidity has been increased all round. The suspension was also adjusted, while the designers were supported in the development of new aerodynamic features by their colleagues in motorsport.
The Toyota GR Supra has made a remarkable impact, affirming its status as a sports car in its purest form, designed and engineered for the joy of driving. As the first global model to be developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing, it has drawn on Toyota’s sports car heritage while exploring new horizons of handling and performance. Now the range is being extended in the UK for the first time with the established 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged engine being joined by a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo unit. The new 2.0-litre engine widens GR Supra’s market appeal and, being lighter and more compact than the 3.0-litre unit, improves the car’s inertia characteristics and chassis balance for even sharper handling.Where weight is concerned, the GR Supra 2.0 weighs 100kg less than its 3.0-litre equivalent, a saving that further strengthens the car’s dynamic performance. The engine’s shorter length means its mass is located closer to the centre of the car, supporting an ideal front/rear balance and better inertia characteristics.

Now Toyota is ready to share a vision of how it’s going to raise the bar by bringing even more excitement and boldness to the iconic C-SUV.The Paris Motor Show in October 2014 was the first signal that Toyota was preparing to launch a whole new genre of vehicle within the C-Segment. How to bring new amazement and delight to those who already know and love Toyota C-HR for its audacity, provocation, and fun?Introducing the Toyota C-HR prologue.
