Director Teases Meryl Streep’s Role In Mary Poppins Returns

Fans are getting a bit of a teaser of Meryl Streep's character in upcoming 'Mary Poppins Returns'! Entertainment Weekly has shared that the films' director Rob Marshall said that the Oscar-winning actress was swiftly drawn to his 2018 sequel Mary Poppins Returns primarily because of its message of optimism — she apparently called it a gift to the world. The site reports that Streep will play Topsy, a cousin of Mary Poppins who receives a visit from the nanny played by Emily Blunt and the Banks children during their adventurous lessons.
