The United States is sending a new batch of military assistance to Ukraine, with the $450 million shipment including more rocket systems to use against Russian invasion forces. "This package contains weapons and equipment, including new High Mobility Artillery Rocket systems," National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby says at a White House briefing. Also included are tens of thousands of rounds of artillery ammunition and patrol boats. SOUNDBITE
The United States announces an "emergency package of security assistance of $300 million" to Ukraine. "This is possible because of unanticipated costs savings in contracts that DOD negotiated to replace equipment we've already sent to Ukraine through previous drawdown," US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan tells reporters at the White House. US President Joe Biden told his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday that another $625 million in military assistance, including four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, is on the way, the White House says. SOUNDBITE
The United States has not seen evidence of any Chinese weapons shipments in recent days to its ally Russia, a top US official says. "What I can tell you is we have not seen (...) the provision of military equipment by China to Russia.
