Tom Holland recently took time out of his busy schedule to swing by a children's hospital to surprise several kids in full Spider-man costume.
Scene outside the Royal London Hospital, where 12 year-old Archie Battersbee was due to have his life support at the Royal London Hospital ended at 11:00 am (1000 GMT) on Wednesday 3 August 2022. This was postponed after his parents sought a last-ditch ruling from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to keep him alive. Media are gathered outside the hospital as Archie's family await a response from the court. IMAGES of the Royal London Hospital where Archie Battersbee is being treated
The world's children are facing stark global challenges like never before: From the two-year Covid pandemic to climate change, to on-going global conflict, including war in Europe, as well as a worldwide cost-of-living crisis, a global food crisis, and a barrage of natural disasters spanning the globe. For more analysis on the plight of our children, FRANCE 24 is joined by Catherine Russell, UNICEF Executive Director. She says that "children are facing a huge crisis, what we like to think of as cascading crises around the world."
The city of Chernigiv, just 50 km from the Belarusian border, was never captured by Russian forces, but it was pounded with artillery and airstrikes for more than a month before the invading army withdrew. City officials estimate around 350 civilians were killed, and signs of the bombardment are everywhere: from drawings left behind by children hiding in the hospital basement for days, to the mass graves of the residents of an apartment building.
The field hospital has 66 beds and will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. View on euronews
