Ferrari debued their newest supercar, the limited edition LaFerrari Aperta, the convertible version of the original LaFerrari, at the Paris Motor Show on Thursday. However, don't get your hopes up - all 200 models were sold out before the exotic auto was even unveiled. 200 ultra high net worth individuals have already shelled out the 1.86 million euros to reserve the LaFerrari Aperta without ever having even seen the car, earning Ferrari about 372 million euro in revenue.
Volkswagen presented their new electric car, dubbed the I.D., at the 2016 Paris Motor Show at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre on Wednesday. The I.D. is expected to be available to consumers in 2020 and Volkswagen has announced that an autonomous driving option will become available in 2025. The five-door hatchback with rear-wheel drive has an electric motor positioned at its tail, freeing up space at the front of the vehicle and providing a motor output of 168 horsepower. The car is expected to be able to travel between 250 to 375 miles on a single charge and has options for wired and wireless fast charging capabilities.
The new Kia Niro ushers in yet another acronym to the car market – the hybrid utility vehicle or HUV. Although the Japanese Toyota Prius is never mentioned by the Korean brand, it’s clear this is the car in Kia’s crosshairs – and it’s tackling it by packaging its new hybrid-only model in a more attractive and appealing crossover body.
