Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made a rare confession admitting that he sometimes said "the wrong thing" which he regrets, making the statement at a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday. The turn around comes after Trump made several changes to his campaign management team, replacing his campaign manager with Kellyanne Conway and bringing in Breitbart News boss Steve Bannon as his new campaign chief executive in the final run up to the US elections on November 8, 2016.
Former President Barack Obama has stated that Trump is responsible for the coup of the Capitol. Trump's relentless lies on the 2020 election incited violence and inspired the insurgency. "History will rightly remember today's violence at the Capitol, incited by a sitting president who has continued to baselessly lie about the outcome of a lawful election, as a moment of great dishonor and shame for our nation," Obama said. Obama called on Republicans to cease their support for Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 election result. He added that they must "choose America" according to Business Insider.

Democrats saw a sight for sore eyes on Wednesday when former President Barack Obama hit the campaign trail in Philadelphia. They see the former president as a key factor in encouraging Black men, Latinos, and younger voters to turn out and vote. CNN reports Obama delivered a blistering account of President Donald Trump's first four years in office. He argued that Trump has proved to be 'incapable of taking the job seriously' and has shown no interest in 'helping anybody but himself and his friends.' Obama suggested Trump uses the presidency to boost his own profile, then noted, 'Even then, his TV ratings are down. So you know that upsets him.' Obama's remarks will undoubtedly anger Trump, who has continued to attack his predecessor even after almost four years removed from his last day in office.
