Cincinnati Zoo reopened its gorilla enclosure on Tuesday with strengthened security measures.
Less than two weeks after a gorilla was killed when a boy fell into an enclosure, the Cincinnati Zoo has reopened it to visitors with a higher barrier and added knotted rope netting. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
There is much public outcry after Harambe, a silverback gorilla, was shot and killed after a child fell into the gorilla exhibit the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday. Some claim the gorilla appeared to be protecting the toddler and should not have been killed. However, the zoo maintains that authorities made the right decision, as it was a matter of life and death for the child.
Director of the Cincinnati Zoo says officials were right to kill an endangered gorilla that had grabbed a young boy who slipped into the exhibit over the weekend. Rough Cut (no reporter narration)
