Video footage courtesy of the Buena Park Police Department shows the moment that emergency teams rescued 21 people from a stalled 100-foot high ride at the Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park in Buena Park, California on Friday evening. The amusement park goers had spent almost seven hours trapped in the 'Sky Cabin' capsule before emergency crews brought them down to safety. Emergency workers arrived on scene and attempted to access the ride via crane, but were forced to seek alternative methods once they discovered that the crane wasn't long enough to reach the capsule. Firefighters then used ropes and harnesses to bring the riders to safety. Investigations into the cause of the incident are underway and the ride will be shut down until further notice, according to officials.
The remaining 33 people trapped overnight in cable cars over Europe's highest mountain are brought to safety, the ride's operator says.
