Footage courtesy of the Dallas Police Department shows Dallas mayor Mike Rawlings and Dallas Police Department Chief David Brown as they held a joint press briefing in Dallas on Thursday, right after two snipers opened fire on police during a march for African American police shooting victims Alton Sterling and Philandro Castile in the Dallas city center. 5 police officers were killed and 6 others received injuries.
A police security cordon still surrounds Hong Kong Polytechnic university, five days since it was occupied by anti-government protesters. Although many have since surrendered, a few diehards remain holed up inside campus buildings. IMAGES
Former US President George W. Bush raised eyebrows after footage captured him swaying and dancing during a memorial service in Dallas on Tuesday. The sombre event was held to honour the five police officers killed in the Dallas shootings last week, during a protest against the police killing of African-Americans Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. During a rendition of 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic,' the former president, holding Michelle Obama's hand on one side - and his wife Laura's on the other, swayed to the music.
