The Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, the eagerly awaited derivative of the Golf SportWagen, marries that vehicle's practicality and fun-to-drive nature with the capabilities of 4Motion all-wheel drive and rugged exterior styling. The Alltrack offers an affordable yet upscale alternative to existing all-wheel-drive wagons that are on the US market. The Alltrack uses Volkswagen's powerful yet fuel-efficient 1.8-liter TSI turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder engine, which makes 170 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. The TSI engine will initially be offered with a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, with a six-speed manual transmission available later in the model year. The latest generation 4Motion all-wheel-drive system features a fast-acting center differential.

Now Germany's most successful automaker is transferring this concept to another vehicle class with the new VW Golf Alltrack. Technical and visual features of the Golf Alltrack include its 4MOTION four-wheel drive system, higher ground clearance, wheel arch mouldings and flared side sills that offer body protection, newly designed bumpers and many other independent exterior and interior features. One petrol engine (TSI) and three diesel engines (TDI) are available in the Golf Alltrack - all of them are powerful turbocharged direct-injection engines. The 1.8 TSI that produces 132 kW / 180 PS is an entirely new addition to the Golf range. TDI versions of the Golf Alltrack will launch at these power levels: 81 kW / 110 PS (1.6 TDI), 110 kW / 150 PS (2.0 TDI) and 135 kW / 184 PS (2.0 TDI). The versions with 180 PS and 184 PS transfer their power to the four-wheel drive system via a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG) as standard. Volkswagen of America today announces the highly anticipated Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition for the North American market. A world model, it celebrates 20 years of high-performance all-wheel-drive Golf vehicles, beginning with the release of the Golf R32 in Europe in 2002.The Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition builds upon the latest generation Golf R, which utilizes Volkswagen’s advanced MQB chassis and turbocharged 315-horsepower EA888 evo4 TSI engine. Unique to the North American market, the 20th Anniversary Edition is offered with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.Select changes to the Golf R’s exterior make the 20th Anniversary Edition easily discernable without compromising the sophisticated appeal of the Golf R. Starting from the top, deleting the standard sunroof shaves weight from the Golf R’s highest point and streamlines the hatchback’s roofline. From the side, Golf R’s large 19-inch Estoril wheels are finished in Gloss Black and are fitted with 235/35 summer performance tires. As in every Golf R, a torque vectoring all-wheel-drive system is paired with an advanced DCC adaptive damping system to help ensure power makes it to the wheels that need it in any driving situation.
