An American pilot has died after his fighter jet went down in eastern England in what witnesses described as a “huge fireball” at around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
One of the most epic drag races ever took place at the 2017 MAKS Air Show in Russia on Saturday - pitting a MIG-29UB fighter jet against a Formula 1 race car. The Formula 1 vehicle took the lead in the beginning but the MIG's engines warmed up quickly and the jet quickly overtook the race car before going airborn. The action took place on the grounds of the Zhukovsky airfield outside Moscow, and featured some of the world's fastest four-wheeled vehicles racing different aircraft on the race track in a mini event called the Festival of Speed.
A Russian fighter jet SU-24 has been downed by Turkey Tuesday as the warplane allegedly entered Turkish airspace. The two pilots ejected themselves before the crash. At least one of them may have been captured by Syrian rebels.
