World’s Most Expensive Cheesecake is Covered in 24-Carat Gold and Costs $5,000

Made from only the finest ingredients and covered in 24-carat gold leaf, one cheesecake whipped up in New York City's Ristorante Rafale on Wednesday has officially become the most expensive in the world. Celebrity Chef Raffaele Ronca received a Guinness Book of World Records title for the producing the world's most expensive cheesecake, which costs $5,000 per pie. The cheesecake includes eye-wateringly expensive ingredients such as 200-year-old cognac, white truffles from Alba, and, of course, 24-carat gold leaf.

Mexican chef Juan Licerio Alcala, who works at the Grand Velas Los Cabos luxury hotel in Mexico's Cabo San Lucas, has unveiled his latest offering - the world's most expensive taco. The golden taco is only available to the most affluent guests. Just to have a chance to order the taco, customers must already be staying in the hotel's luxury presidential suite and pay a $12,500 deposit.
