Ryan Reynolds' 'Detective Pikachu' Film Gets Release Date


The live-action 'Detective Pikachu' movie, starring Ryan Reynolds as the voice of the beloved Pokemon has been given a release date of May 10, 2019. The movie reportedly revolves around a young man played by actor Justice Smith who seeks out the crime-solving Pikachu’s help after his father is kidnapped. 'Detective Pikachu' is being directed by Goosebumps' Rob Letterman, with a from a script written by Alex Hirsch, the creator of hit cartoon show Gravity Falls. In addition to Smith and Reynolds, actress Kathryn Newton has been cast as a “sassy journalist” who helps the pair out with their investigation.
