  • 2018 Honda Civic and Jazz

The iconic Honda Civic epitomizes compact-car excellence with its mix of practicality and a fun-to-drive personality. The versatile Honda has a version for everyone; its lineup includes a two-door coupe as well as a four-door sedan and hatchback. It’s available with two excellent four-cylinder engines and either an adroit continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) or a slick-shifting six-speed manual. We appreciate its comfy ride and fuel efficiency, but the Civic’s optional touchscreen infotainment system is plagued with usability issues. While that’s proof that the affable Honda isn’t perfect, it excels everywhere else and ranks near the top of its class. The new-look Honda Jazz has been revealed. As well as updates to the exterior styling and interior trim, the new Jazz will also be available with a 130 PS (96 kW) 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine for the first time in Europe.

  • All-new Honda Civic e:HEV Trailer

The all-new Honda Civic has been engineered to ensure that its e:HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain, steering and suspension deliver the engaging levels of performance, dynamic response and feedback that have always been central to the Civic’s appeal. The result is a car that blends a rewarding driving experience with highly competitive efficiency and emissions.Available later in 2022, the 11th generation Civic is the final mainstream Honda model to be electrified, following the CR-V, Honda e, Jazz, Jazz Crosstar, and HR-V. The car will feature the most advanced iteration of the brand’s award-winning e:HEV full-hybrid powertrain. This combines a power-dense lithium-ion battery and two compact, powerful electric motors with a newly-developed 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, which achieves industry-best equalling 41% thermal efficiency and features a direct injection system optimised for faster and more efficient combustion and greater torque output. In addition to direct injection system, a number of technologies such as low temperature active catalyst, and a modified design on intake port help contribute to improved fuel economy whilst achieving specific output. The result of these technological advancements is a WLTP ‘Combined’ CO2 emission figure of just 108g/km (WLTP), with fuel economy an equally impressive 4.7l/100km. This exceptional efficiency is combined with a maximum power output of 135kW/ 184PS and 315Nm maximum torque, ensuring the all new Civic is a compelling driver’s car within the C-segment.

  • Jenson Button secures Hondas lap record in Civic Type R Challenge 2018

"In the fifth and final of a planned series of lap record attempts across Europe in 2018, Honda has set a new 2min 10.19sec record for a front wheel drive production car at the Hungaroring GP circuit in Hungary. The Civic Type R was driven by Formula One World Champion and current NSX Super GT driver, Jenson Button. The track holds special significance for Button, as the circuit where he won the first Grand Prix of his career with Honda in 2006. The Hungaroring circuit is a twisty and narrow 4.38km track with 180-degree corners and a complex chicane, making it one of the more technical tracks in Europe. However, this proved to be a perfect demonstration of the Civic Type R’s Adaptive Damper System, delivering a firmer, flatter ride and greater agility for high-performance handling around the tight circuit. Alongside the suspension system, the unique steering setup and improved aerodynamics enabled Button to secure the lap record for Honda at the Grand Prix circuit."

  • The new Honda Civic Typ R

"The all-new Honda Civic Type R has been engineered from the ground up to deliver the most rewarding driving experience in the hot hatch segment - both on road and on the race track. Newly engineered from the ground up, the Type R was developed in parallel with the new standard Civic hatchback, with mutual benefits to the dynamics and refinement of both variants. It retains the heritage of Honda's high-performance hatchback bloodline, combining the purity of front-wheel-drive chassis dynamics with aggressive design and finely-honed aerodynamics. A new single-mass flywheel coupled with the slick six-speed manual gearbox reduces clutch inertia weight by 25%, and combines with a 7% lower final gear ratio to enhance response under acceleration. The gearbox's rev-matching function smooths shifts, eliminating undesirable transmission 'shock' associated with excessive or insufficient revving. The rev-matching function further enhances the joy of driving a manual transmission sports car. A lightweight, highly rigid bodyshell - the product of innovative new engineering and construction techniques - complements the lower centre of gravity and a sophisticated new suspension system, contributing directly to the car's rewarding dynamics. An advanced Dual-Axis Strut Front Suspension system reduces torque steer and enhances on-the-limit cornering and steering feel. At the rear, Type R's new multi-link suspension enhances ride comfort as well as high speed stability."
