The White House condemns fresh Russian strikes on Ukraine, after at least 17 people were killed in an attack on a market in the east of the country. "These brutal Russian attacks underscore the importance of continuing to support the people of Ukraine as they defend their territory," White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre tells a daily briefing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insists that a special tribunal must be created to hold Russia to account for its "aggression". "When there is a tradition of inevitable punishment of aggression, then there will be a tradition of guaranteed non-repetition of aggression," he tells diplomats and officials at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which has issued an arrest warrant for Russia's Vladimir Putin over a war crime charge. Metropolitan Pavlo, the director of the Ukrainian capital's historic Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery, appears in court on the charges of inciting religious hatred and denying Russian aggression.
