Renault will be at the 2023 Rétromobile car show in Paris with a stand paying homage to the brand’s iconic vehicles. From 1 to 5 February 2023, the brand invites visitors to dive into a timeless universe – all while resolutely looking towards the future. The first area, The Originals Renault Garage, will show three fully electric retrofitted models: the Renault 4, the Renault 5 and a reinvented Twingo making its first-ever public appearance. Renault’s design team took the Twingo slogan of “à vous d’inventer la vie qui va avec” (create the life that goes with it) to new heights to mark the car’s 30th birthday. Their new design is a surprising tribute to the California lowriders of the 1990s.This part of the stand will also feature the R5 Turbo 3E and Suite N°4 show cars, as well as an astonishing new breed of show car: “Mute the Hot Rod”. Based on a 1924 Renault MT, “Mute the Hot Rod” has an electric power train and a design that draws inspiration from the speed records set at the time and 1940s hot rods. Presented here in an initial preview version, the finalised show car will be revealed later in the year.
The 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS made its first in-person appearance today at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, only two days after its digital world premiere. The show car – customized by the GT Model Line and Style Porsche – is a tribute to the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7.
As mobility continues open up new possibilities for connected and autonomous cars, users will seek for more sophisticated on-board experiences to maximize travel time – personally and professionally. Demonstrating the next step in Renault’s investment stake in French media group Challenges, Mr. Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of Group Renault, revealed a new vision for the future of mobile content – an Augmented Editorial Experience (AEX). This immersive experience combining content, connectivity services, media and mobility, will turn travel time into a learning experience beyond driving and beyond the car itself. An immersive Augmented Editorial Experience will appear on the Renault stand at the Paris Motor Show. Inside a full-size capsule, through 4 scenarios in a 222-degree projection, visitors will experience how their daily time spent in a car might be different, through the benefit of enhanced on-board experiences and premium, adaptive, personalized content developed by Groupe Challenges. The AEX capsule sits alongside a new Renault luxury concept car, which is an electric, autonomous, connected robo-vehicle, making it easy for people to imagine what the experience might be like in the autonomous drive car of the future.
