Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has revealed Thor: Ragnarok‘s Hela was almost the villain in Thor: The Dark World. Hela is getting rave revoews as one of the best Marvel villains of all time. Hela is the Norse goddess of death and she powers that rival that of Mighty Thor. In an interview with Slash-film, Feige revealed that Cate Blanchett's Hela was always part of the plan for the third Thor film At one time Hela was supposed to be the villain in The Dark World. Feige said "It didn’t happen for various reasons. And thank God it didn’t because now we have Cate Blanchett and Taika doing it."

Mark Ruffalo celebrated his own arrival on set with a fun video or two, and Thompson shared on Instagram some fan art of herself as her character, Valkyrie, and a sober message referencing the Black Lives Matters protests taking place. Thompson wrote, “Inspired by all the Warriors leading movements in the very real world right now.”
