Un gîte et un couvert éphémères le temps que l’oiseau âgé et blessé se requinque : voilà ce qu’offrait Gilbert Fischer, qui a filmé pléthore de moments de proximité avec le couple de cygnes, notamment lors de la nidification. Mais la loi est la loi, lui a martelé la direction départementale de la protection des populations. En mars dernier, un avocat parisien lui aussi sensibilisé à la cause du Lorrain entre en action. Il apprend dans des échanges avec le ministère public de Thionville que Baba a été rendu à la nature, sans que son client ne soit au courant, et sans savoir où l’animal a été déposé. « Un crève-cœur » pour Gilbert qui se voit alors conseiller, par la voix de son conseil, de porter plainte contre X, pour des faits de mauvais traitement ou pour des faits d’actes de cruauté afin qu’une enquête soit réalisée.
