Production at Audi’s main plant in Ingolstadt has started up again on a single assembly line. Due to the corona crisis, production was shut down in a controlled manner in mid-March. The picture shows a section of the assembly line including a separating plastic sheet for safety, where the employees are producing the Audi A3 and Q2 models, initially in single-shift operation. Upstream processes such as press shop, body shop and paint shop gradually started already at the beginning of the week. Approximately 1,500 employees are back at work this week to restart car production in Ingolstadt.

Starting from Wednesday, February 12, interested parties can experience production processes of the brand at the Ingolstadt site online and in English language, both from the comfort of their own homes and while on the go. Experienced tour guides accompany the virtual tour and answer questions in the live stream.AudiStream provides detailed insights into selected production stages at Audi in Ingolstadt. Additionally, the new online feature presents the technical highlights of the brand. The tour guides share their knowledge from numerous factory tours and moderate the virtual tours live from a studio. They explain production processes, answer individual questions as part of a dialog, and tailor the course of the approximately 20-minute live stream to the wishes and interests of the participants.
Commenting on the situation at Audi and the assessment of the ongoing restructuring in the automotive industry, the co-chairman of the Greens, Robert Habeck, was yesterday evening in the Ingolstadt plant with stewards of IG Metall exchanged.
Some 250 men and 20 women, young and old, competed to see who could shovel the most snuff tobacco up their noses within 60 seconds, in the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt in Germany.
Audi gets a train stop at the factory, Ingolstadt a third station: The future public rail stop "Ingolstadt Audi" is located directly on the Audi factory premises. Here, a traffic hub will be created for all citizens and for Audi employees, which will contribute to the relief of traffic. This project is being realized by four partners: DB Station & Service AG, Free State of Bavaria, City of Ingolstadt and AUDI AG. Ground-breaking ceremony on 19 March 2018, completion by the end of 2019.
