Dans la colonie de Port Victory, Jack Dawkins, alias le Renard, a troqué son activité de pickpocket pour celle de chirurgien mais l'arrivée de Fagin le fait replonger dans le crime. Cependant, la plus grande menace (pour le cœur du Renard, tout du moins) n'est autre que Lady Belle, la fille du gouverneur, qui est bien décidée à devenir la première chirurgienne de la colonie.
Le fils de la présidente américaine, Alex Claremont-Diaz, est un beau parti. Cependant, il a une altercation avec son homologue royal britannique, le prince Henry, prise en photo par des paparazzis. Cette querelle remet en cause les relations diplomatiques anglo-américaines. Les deux familles organisent alors un rapprochement amical entre les deux jeunes hommes.
