Honda's new urban electric vehicle was previewed at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show in the form of the Honda e Prototype. This new model leads on from the brand's highly acclaimed 2017 Urban EV Concept, and is a key part of Honda's "Electric Vision" strategy for the European region.Designed to meet the needs of the modern lifestyle, the Honda e Prototype combines unique design, advanced functionality and engaging driving dynamics. The vehicle delivers a package perfect for the urban environment.The Honda e Prototype has been developed with a focus on functionality & purpose featuring a simplicity of design with unique character. The smooth body contours lead from the bonnet to the panoramic windscreen to create a continuous surface up and over the front passengers. Further enhancing aerodynamic performance, the stepless A-pillars sit virtually flush with the glass, to help deliver a quiet, refined journey.Stand-out style elements, which accentuate the clean, uncluttered profile, include flush 'pop out' door handles and compact cameras replacing traditional side view mirrors. Both the door handles and Camera Mirror System are unique features for a vehicle in this class. The car's advanced charging port is integrated centrally in the bonnet for ease of use from either side of the car, with LED lighting visible through the glass cover to welcome the driver and inform of the battery charging status.

    Honda’s showstopper at the 89th Geneva Motor Show was the e Prototype – which previews the company’s future electric models for Europe. Cut to 2019, Honda has taken a step further in that direction and presented the e Prototype, which is positioned as the next-gen urban commuter. The production version of the e Prototype will be revealed later this year, says Honda. The Honda e Prototype has a range of 200km on a single charge and also boasts of a fast charge function that charges the batteries to give 80 per cent range in 30 minutes, according to the company. It has garnered some interest, as Honda claims that it has received 15,000 registrations for the e Prototype in Europe. Tom Gardner, Senior Vice President, Honda Motor Europe said: “Since we made that first pledge in March 2017, the shift towards electrification has gathered pace considerably. Environmental challenges continue to drive demand for cleaner mobility. Technology marches on unrelenting and people are starting to shift their view of the car itself.”

All with a weight of the battery pack of just 385 kg. Unthinkable performance with first-generation lithium-iron phosphate batteries.Slow charging times range from 6 to 8 hours. The fast half-hour charge guarantees 80% battery efficiency anyway. Also the electric range will be full optional as standard. The DR3 EV, in addition to the rich equipment of the bi-fuel version, in addition has the ability to choose between the driving modes Eco and Sport and the sound alarm for pedestrians when the car is moving.
