Pro Wrestler Attacked During WWE Hall Of Fame Speech

CNN reports wrestler Bret "The Hitman" Hart was on stage being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday... ...when suddenly, a man rushed on stage, trying to tackle him. Luckily, a team of wrestling stars jumped in to help, pinning the man down. These included Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd, Drake Maverick and Curtis Axel. Zachary Madsen now faces 2 counts of third-degree assault, criminal trespass, and a misdemeanor charge.

    On Saturday, Zachary Madsen, a 26-year-old from Nebraska, ran in and tackled Bret “The Hitman” Hart during his WWE Hall of Fame induction. According to ComicBook.com, Madsen was quickly apprehended and arrested outside the Barclays Center while Hart continued his speech. Madsen was later charged with multiple accounts of assault as well as trespassing for the attack, and had a $1,500 bail set by a Brooklyn judge. Along with the bail, the judge set a protection order for Hart and a member of WWE's security team against Madsen. Hart reportedly visited a hospital after his speech for soreness after being tackled, but was not injured.

    A 26-year-old man has been taken into custody after attacking former professional wrestler Bret Hart during the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday night, the New York Police Department has confirmed to TheWrap. Hart was onstage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to honor the life of his brother-in-law and tag team partner, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, who died in August of last year at the age of 63.     Comicbook.com reports Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend and got into a wrestling match! Robby Starr and Onyx were engaged in match, when Schwarzenegger came by to get video for social media. Starr tried to roll out of the ring to escape his opponent, only for Schwarznegger to toss him back in and set Onyx up for victory. The video footage made its way to Pro Wrestling Sheet on Monday. Schwarzenegger made the WWE Hall of Fame's Celebrity Wing in 2015.

  • Ric Flair Pays Tribute To 'Mean' Gene Okerlund

    Professional wrestler Ric Flair and announcer Gene Okerlund shared one of the longest friendships in professional wrestling. According to ComicBook.com, the two men spent time in Verne Gagne's AWA in the early 1970s and maintained a friendship from that point on. Flair later worked alongside Okerlund during his first run with the WWE in the early 1990s. During a recent radio appearance Flair paid tribute to Okerlund following his death this week saying; "He'll always be remembered, to me, as the most entertaining guy outside of the wrestlers themselves. Ever. In the history of the business, nobody even close."
