A la carte: Taking stock, 50 years after the Apollo 11 lunar landing
50 years ago the US became the first country to land men on the moon. Now, NASA has a new moon programme called Artemis, the aim being to go to the moon again by 2024. Bryan Quinn reports.
Neil Armstrong's Apollo 11 Contingency Lunar Sample Return bag will go up for auction on July 20, at Sotheby's New York to mark the 48th anniversary of the historic moon landing and it could sell for a stratospheric price - the sample bag is expected to fetch over 4 million dollars. Used by Neil Armstrong to collect the first ever samples of the moon on his Apollo 11 mission, the bag still contains traces of moon dust to this day.
This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, an event that sparked a technological innovation revolution. To this day, we continue to benefit from space-race advancements, such as the Zero Gravity seats available in the INFINITI QX50 and Q60.
