  • US-Mexico border becoming tech center as firms exit California

San Francisco, Mar 29 (EFE).- The exodus of technology companies from California, which has been accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic, is significantly benefiting Texas and the US-Mexico border zone as a tech "hub" is being established there that takes advantage of the region's bilingual and bicultural characteristics.(CAMERA: Marc Arcas)STATEMENTS FROM OMAR SAUCEDO, SPOKESMAN FOR THE BRIDGE ACCELERATOR:"We have the participation of Mexican companies that are interested in connecting with the United States and vice versa, American companies interested in the Mexican market. We call that binational participation. We also have companies that are present in both countries, companies that began in the US and are known in Mexico or vice versa. The border between Texas and Juarez, Mexico has a unique population. The border divides us but if you look at a map you can see that there is no natural division, so there is an immediate social and business coexistence."

  • FBI: Evidence Indicates Siege Of Capitol Planned, Not Spontaneous

Investigators now believe the attack on the US Capitol last week was not just a protest that spiraled out of control. CNN reports that the belief, early in the probe, will demand significant investigation. Evidence uncovered so far, including weapons and tactics seen on surveillance video, suggests the attack was planned. The FBI says some participants at the Trump rally at the Ellipse, outside the White House, left the event early, perhaps to retrieve weapons. They're also looking at travel and communications records to determine if they can build a case that is similar to a counterterrorism investigation. Corruption prosecutors and agents are also engaging in the hunt for wrongdoers, thanks to their expertise in financial investigations. The FBI reported that it has received more than 126,000 digital tips from the public regarding the attack on the Capitol.
