  • Nintendo Switch And 3DS Releases For November

Nintendo has announced a massive lineup of new games for the Switch and 3DS systems. This news comes 11 months after the Nintendo Switch’s initial launch, which was met with a lot of enthusiasm – it’s even looking like the Switch could outsell the Xbox One this year. This is the second time in recent months that Nintendo has announced a big pile of new content for the Switch. Back in August, twenty indie titles were unveiled for the innovative console. These announcements disprove the common misconception that all the Switch has is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As the official Nintendo press packet explains, “The next few months for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS owners are going to be overflowing with a wide variety of first – and third-party games in wildly different genres.” Indeed, Nintendo has a lot in its pipeline: Here’s what’s still to come on the Switch this year: Splatoon 2 is getting an update on September 15; Arcade Archives brings classic arcade games to the console, starting with Mario Bros on September 27; ARMS is getting an update to add a new fighter and make the controls more flexible; Fire Emblem Warriors launches October 20; Super Mario Odyssey has a release date of October 27; Sonic Forces launches November 7; Snipperclips Plus is coming to stores on November 10; Rockstar Games is brining L.A. Noire to the Switch on November 14; The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launches November 17; Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2 both launch on November 28; Morphies Law, a local and online team-based multiplayer shooter, is launching this winter; Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is coming December 1; Rocket League arrives this holiday season; NBA 2K18, FIFA 18, WWE 2K18 will all come to the Switch; Flip Wars is getting a big update soon; and the beta version of Arena of Valor is coming this winter. And here’s the Switch content for early 2018: Lost Sphear, a new RPG from Square Enix, launches January 23; Project Octopath Traveler, another Square Enix RPG, will follow later; Bethesda Softworks will bring DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to the console; and Dragon Quest Builders is coming in spring, as is Kirby Star Allies. As for the 3DS, here’s what’s planned for backend of this year: Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond The Myth is coming this fall; Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters is due on September 29; Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition is available to download now, with a physical release following later; Layton’s Mystery Journey is coming October 6; also coming on October 6 is Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions; October 20 will see the launch of Fire Emblem Warriors; Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is coming in November; Mario Party: The Top 100 will bring mini-games from the Mario Party series into the handheld arena for the first time on November 10; and, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, boasting “an untold story” and two new versions of the Legendary Pokémon Necrozma, launches November 17. 2018 on the 3DS will begin like this: Kirby will fight himself in Kirby: Battle Royale, which has single and multiplayer modes, and launches January 19; Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux will arrive, with lots of new content, early in the year; The Alliance Alive, an “old-school RPG” from ATLUS also arrives early in 2018; and Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology is expected near the start the year, as well. Best of luck to any completists trying to keep up with all that. You could argue that this is more games than anyone could possibly play, but there’s bound to be a lot of fun in trying.

  • 'The Punisher' Season 2 Coming Soon To Netflix, But Don't Expect More

According to Business Insider, the second season of “The Punisher” is coming to Netflix soon, but don’t expect more of the Marvel series after that. Three of the Marvel-Netflix shows — "Iron Fist," "Luke Cage," and "Daredevil" — were canceled this year, with only "The Punisher" and "Jessica Jones" remaining. It's possible that "Jessica Jones" could return for a third season, but beyond that, it's unlikely that Netflix will continue its Marvel shows. It’s suspected that Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney+, plays a major role in the recent cancelations, as the Marvel parent company looks to build up its own library of content and limit competition.
