The alleged mastermind of the 2014 attack on a school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar has been killed in a U.S. drone strike, the Pakistani military said.
The spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State says they are "reasonably certain" a drone strike killed the militant known as "Jihadi John." Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
A US contractor was killed and five American service members, plus another US contractor were injured after a drone struck a military base in northeast Syria, the Pentagon says. "A US contractor was killed and five US service members and one additional US contractor were wounded after a one-way unmanned aerial vehicle struck a maintenance facility on a coalition base near Hasakah in northeast Syria," says Press Secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder. US Central Command commander General Kenneth McKenzie admits the United States made a "mistake" when it launched a drone strike against suspected Islamic State militants in the Afghan capital Kabul on August 29, confirming that it killed 10 civilians instead.
