The gaming world as it relates to smartphones and tablets continues to offer more proof of it's relevance in the consumer marketplace. Sony Computer Entertainment in a recent press release announced that as of April 1st, a new company called ForwardWorks Corporation is being established by Sony in order to produce games for mobile devices. Sony isn’t new to the world of mobile gaming having previously used its PlayStation brand to produce and promote games on smartphones.
RIM's Q4 revenue plummeted 25 percent. Google will open an online tablet store. After discontinuing its US line of smartphones earlier this week, Dell announced that it will introduce new ones later this year. OnStar will let drivers track and find their cars.
IFA kicks off in Berlin on Friday, but the days prior are packed with press conferences from major consumer electronics vendors as tablets, smartphones and 3D take centre stage.
Watch the press conference at which Sony finally announced its arrival in the tablet game. The Sony Tablet S and Sony Tablet P Android tablets will integrate with other Sony products - so for example consumers can use them as a remote control for their TV. They've also been described as 'the dream tablet for gamers'. Sony may be late to the game, but its used that time to come up with an innovative and interesting design that may yet win a following.
