The next generation of wacky gadgets set to hit the shelves got unveiled at 2018 Consumer Electronics Show. A clothes folding machine, a 3D avatar photo booth and Kuri the home robot were just some of the cool new tech trends that were showcased this year at the annual exhibition. Innovations in consumer electronics, robotics, drones, 3D printing, mobility, and wearables get unveiled to the world at the CES show, which acts as a sort of testing ground for new ideas.
The futuristic Ruriden columbarium in Tokyo's Shinjuku houses 2,046 illuminated glass Buddha altars corresponding to drawers storing ashes of the deceased, with progressive head monk Yajima Taijun explaining the high-tech temple, Wednesday. An IC card allows the owner of the altar containing the ashes to access the building and light up the corresponding statue. Ashes are stored for 33 years before being buried below the Ruriden.
