Empire Awards 2016: Star Wars 7 & Mad Max Lead Nominees

Description

The 2016 Oscars are just around the corner. Most of the mainstream awards season done and dusted, it’s easy to miss the less well covered Empire Awards swing by with their nominations. Once a year the British-based movie magazine presents its self-dubbed ‘antidote to mainstream film awards’ ceremony. Empire claims that their awards recognise those snubbed by other ceremonies, thanks to voting being open to the public. Mad Max: Fury Road came out on top with ten nominations closely followed by Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens with nine.
