Selena Gomez wants to see more people cut down on their social media use, because she believes it negatively impacts mental health.
New York (CNN Business) Pennsylvania, which could be critical in determining who wins the presidency, has emerged as an early focus of online misinformation on Election Day, with much of it coming from the right. The most prominent topic being discussed concerns allegations, which are for the most part either unsubstantiated or just plain false, have focused on perceived unfairness toward Republican poll-watchers, with the implication that something untoward may be going on that people don't want the poll-watchers to see. There have been no substantiated reports of mistreatment of poll-watchers.
US President Donald Trump's fondness for Twitter has forced the social media platform to create special rules for people just like him. According to Gizmodo, Twitter has a 'world leader' exemption that means that leader can post pretty much what he or she wants, without being banned. Instead of removing the post or banning the politician, Twitter slaps a warning on the post, saying it's in the public interest for the tweet to remain. However, Twitter says the exemption only lasts for the length of time the incumbent is holding office. So if Joe Biden wins the general election, Trump may fall from Twitter's good graces on January 21st, 2021.
President Donald Trump let fly against demonstrators in Portland, Oregon, on Sunday evening, who were protesting against the perceived racism of Columbus Day. Crowds dispersed on Sunday evening after police designated the gathering as a riot and appeared to make several arrests. According to Business Insider, Trump doubled down on his 'law and order' campaign rhetoric Monday morning. Referring to protesters as 'animals,' Trump retweeted a video of the protests, in which statues of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt were toppled. He also got a jab in at the Great State of California, tweeting that it was 'going to hell' and exhorted, 'Vote Trump!'
Selena Gomez has insisted that although social media is an "amazing platform" she feels it's "dangerous" and has been "terrible" for her generation.
