A Boy Became So Overwhelmed By A Visit From The Queen He Crawled To The Exit


The Queen visited the UK's oldest charity on Wednesday. She was opening the Queen Elizabeth II Centre — a national centre for Coram, which helps improve the lives of the UK's most vulnerable children and young people. As part of the visit, the Queen met a number of children who had benefited from the charity, including nine-year-old Nathan Grant. Grant found the encounter a tad overwhelming, and promptly dropped to his knees before crawling through the nearest exit.

    On Tuesday, the Dutch king and queen began a state visit to Britain that will include full ceremonial honours and a gala banquet. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands were welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Pavilion at Horse Guards in central London. According to Channel 24, the king kissed Elizabeth on both cheeks and clasped her hands when they met, as did Maxima. On Tuesday evening, the queen has planned a state dinner for her guests at Buckingham Palace. It is not clear if she will be joined by her husband Prince Philip who has largely retired from public life. It is the third time the queen has hosted the Dutch royal family for a state visit, the most recent being in 1982.
