Is Democrat Eric Swalwell Planning To Run For President In 2020?

Description

Business Insider reported that Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell is reportedly planning to run for president in 2020. Swalwell told The Hill he has nothing to announce in that regard "yet," but a source told Politico he's "definitely running." At 37-years-old, Swalwell is roughly half President Donald Trump's age. Swalwell would be among the youngest candidates for president in recent history. The Constitution requires a person to be at least 35 to run for president. Following the 2018 midterm elections Democrats have taken control of the House and there's a great deal of speculation surrounding who will challenge Trump in 2020.

  • The One Thing Dems And GOP Voters Agreed On In 2020? Legal Weed

It's still unknown whether President Donald Trump or former Vice President Joe Biden will win the 2020 race for the US presidency. But according to Gizmodo, one clear winner has emerged in another fight: the drug legalization movement. In both red and blue cities and states, people voted to legalize or decriminalize cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms, and, in Oregon, all illicit drugs entirely. New Jersey, Arizona, South Dakota, and Montana all passed ballot measures to legalize cannabis for recreational use. Voting to legalize cannabis and other drugs appeared to have nothing to do with whether a state voted for Trump or Biden--or its governor's party. and GOP governors of Arizona and South Dakota discouraged residents from voting to legalize cannabis. It didn't work.

  • In Election's Home Stretch, Trump Campaign Scrambled For Cash

Former 2020 Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale made a $200m miscalculation that left the campaign nearly flat broke, a month before election day. According to Business Insider, Parscale had counted on boatloads of last-minute cash donations to nearly double the dollar amount of previous monthly hauls. Republicans close to the campaign said staffers have had to scramble to cancel the spending approved by Parscale to salvage the president's run for a second term. But money has been tight since then, and Trump himself has been trying to quash stories that his campaign is on the rocks Trump has also had to float the idea, again, that he would open up his own checkbook to keep it running.

  • As Doors Slam All Around Him, Trump Spends Election Run-Up Ranting On Fox News

US President Donald Trump appears to be running out of lifelines to save himself politically. CNN reports Trump had hoped a range of pivotal events would turn the electoral tide in his direction, but they're vanishing as quickly as Halloween candy. A coronavirus vaccine hasn't been created. Nor has a massive stimulus package materialized. And the investigation into the Clinton Foundation was a bust. So the president has taken to dialing Fox hosts from the White House and ripping his senior-most Cabinet members for not delivering before election day. It's an unfamiliar experience for a man used to getting what he wants. He is in a completely different universe right now where nobody is left, really, to help him out of the jams he keeps getting himself into.
