  • Rally Monza - Daily recap Friday - part 2

The two, also fighting for the title of World Rally Champion, confirmed the current superiority of the Yaris WRC over the Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC, the cars competing for the Constructors' title. Two Toyota in front and two Hyundai to chase with an already important gap. The first of the three days of the FORUM8 ACI Rally Monza, the closing race of the World Rally Championship, decisive for the assignment of the drivers 'and constructors' titles, ended with the two Toyota Yaris WRC of Elfyn Eevans, sailed by Scott Martin, and Sebastien Ogier, paired with Julien Ingrassia, clearly in command. The pace of the two, who have been fighting each other for a long time on the edge of tenths of a second, was decidedly higher than that of the competition with, in particular, the two Hyundai of Thierry Neuville and Dani Sordo that were consistently less fast of the adversaries, in particular on the two special stages, to be repeated twice, outside the circuit, those of "Gerosa" (10.96 km) and "Costa Valle Imagna" (22.11 km). Timed sections that allowed the Toyota drivers to take a good advantage. The race is still long, but the more than twenty seconds ahead of the crews in the lead over Neuville, and the over thirty over Dani Sordo, are particularly heavy.
