People react as exit polls for the UK general election are projected onto the BBC's London headquarters, with the figures predicting a landslide victory for the opposition Labour Party. Those gathered in the British capital cheer when projected Labour seat tally (410) is revealed and boo when the Reform UK tally (13) is shown. With the Conservatives predicted to win just 131 seats, the party could be on track for its worst defeat since the beginning of the 20th century. IMAGES
Labour leader Keir Starmer launches his party's manifesto at an event in Manchester, calling it "a manifesto for wealth creation, a plan to change Britain". Early on in his speech a protester interrupts, saying the party was offering "the same old Tory policies". Starmer replies: "We gave up on being a party of protest five years ago.
