Migration crisis, Wagner threat, NATO summit... Poland boosts security on its border with Belarus

Description

Due to the still tense situation on the eastern border of the EU, the ongoing migration crisis which has recently been gaining another momentum, as well as the announcements about the possible relocation of the Wagner group to Belarus – and, if not above all, due to the ongoing NATO summit in Lithuania – Poland decided to strengthen its borders with an additional 500 policemen and 1000 soldiers. Our team on the ground reports.

  • Polish police publish images of cleared border area

    Images released by Polish Police show the area along the border with Belarus close to the border town of Kuznica which has been entirely cleared of migrant encampments. Some 2,000 migrants who were living in freezing conditions at the border have been moved to a nearby warehouse. The West accuses Belarus of artificially creating the crisis by bringing in would-be migrants, mostly from the Middle East, and taking them to the border with promises of an easy crossing into the EU.
