Former Russian defence reporter, Ivan Safronov, is sentenced to 22 years on treason charges by a Moscow court. Safronov, 32, appeared handcuffed inside a glass box. Tunisia, Feb 15 (EFE), (Camera: Natalia Román Morte).- In January, a Tunisian court handed three young men an unprecedented 30-year prison sentence for possession and use of cannabis, unleashing controversy and public anger in the country.A court of appeal will decide Tuesday on the sentence, issued on January 20 by a court in the province of El Kef, 200 kilometres west of the capital, which sentenced the three young men to the maximum penalty for having consumed cannabis in a sports stadium —which is considered a public space and, therefore, an aggravating factor-. Rapper Lil Wayne could be facing a lengthy prison sentence. Nearly a year after the initial incident, Lil Wayne 's gun possession has resulted in his being charged with a federal offense. According to CNN, the new charges carry a potential 10-year prison sentence if he is convicted. The rapper was charged Tuesday with criminal possession of a firearm and ammunition, as a prior felony offender. The charges stem from an alleged December 23, 2019, incident in which a handgun was found in his luggage on a private plane. A hearing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 11.
