Spain’s Cerezo on the 'roller coaster' of a silver medal

Tokyo, Jul 26 (EFE).- Spanish Taekwondo athlete Adriana Cerezo said Monday she hopes her silver medal gives the sport a boost in popularity. At just 17, Cerezo won Spain’s first Tokyo 2020 Olympics medal on Saturday. INTERVIEW WITH ADRIANA CEREZO.Translation:"Taekwondo has always brought many medals, it has always been talked about in the Olympics. Hopefully, with me, it will be more. Every year, after each round, it has grown a little and I hope that with me it will grow a little bit more.""An Olympic medal is incredible. For a lot of people, myself included, however much you train or well you're doing, you never have the certainty that you're getting the medal. Once you have the medal, and you're sure, knowing you've had a shot at gold and not getting it because of 5-7 seconds you feel like "What have I done?" but it's ok. It's' not ok, but there's nothing I can do about it."
