France and Italy introduce health pass: 'We need to convince people to get vaccinated'

Description

Italy will require a vaccination pass on long-distance transportation, including high-speed trains and ferries between regions, starting in September, Italian government ministers announced on Thursday. In France, the highest court on August 5 upheld a new law requiring the public to hold a health pass to access bars and restaurants, and health workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by mid-September, saying it complied with the republic's founding charter. France 24's guest Olivier Epaullard, Professor of infectious diseases at Grenoble University, tells us more.
