''Changing the world starts in the toilet'': That is the motto of French start-up Toopi Organics, which specialises in the collection and recycling of human urine. Since 2019, it has been collecting urine at festivals, motorway service stations and theme parks and transforming it into biofertiliser, providing farmers with an ecological alternative to chemical fertilisers. FRANCE 24 visited a collection site as well as a production site where the raw human urine is processed and turned into a product its creators hope could revolutionise agriculture.
