More Nintendo Classic Consoles Coming Summer 2018

Description

Video game giant Nintendo has announced that it will be producing several more NES Classic units for release next summer. The company sparked a wave of nostalgia in millions of consumers who longed for the days when you had to clear the cartridges with a forceful breath of air, when it began releasing the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition in November of 2016. The miniaturized version of the original system released in the mid-’80s had been upgraded to modern standards, featuring HDMI display output for full-HD play as well as allowing for connectivity with the Wii Remote. But at the low domestic price of $59.99, the limited consoles quickly disappeared from shelves, later appearing online for thousands of dollars. Now consumers will get another shot at the system, with Nintendo announcing it will be bringing back the Classic in the summer of 2018, after initially discontinuing world-wide production in April of this year. Furthermore, in order to meet demand, Nintendo will ship the SNES Classic well into 2018, rather than discontinuing production at the end of the year as originally planned.
