Google Home Now Supports Free Spotify Streaming

Description

While the free version of Spotify still provides ample music for frugal listeners, one of the biggest incentives for shelling out the extra $10 a month is the ability to take unlimited jams across any device — particularly smart speakers like Google Home. However, Spotify is removing that barrier for Google's smart speaker as it announced that, starting today, Google Home users can now stream Spotify using either Premium or free accounts. This new perk gives Google Home a leg up on Amazon's competing Echo speakers, which still require a Premium account to play Spotify jams.

  • Get Out The Rabbit Ears, Because It's Time To Think About Cutting The Cord

Trying to cut the fat from the household budget is nothing new, and one strategy is to 'cut the cord' by getting rid of cable TV. But unless you can get your TV from a roof antenna, you'll have to have cheap, fast internet to stream your programs. According to TechNewsWorld.com, cutting the cable TV cord is a mixed bag for most people. You'll probably just lower your TV bill by streaming, rather than saving a ton of money. On the other hand, you can bounce from free trials to low-cost offerings to find the ideal solution. Most streaming services don't require contracts, so you can explore different options depending on your viewing habits and your family's needs.
