    Tropical cyclone Yasa is barreling towards Fiji, bringing hurricane-force winds to the Pacific island nation. The powerful storm has rapidly strengthened over the past 24 hours from a Category 1 storm to a high-end Category 4.   • The Largest Snowfall In Years is Expected To Hit The Northeast Tonight

    A powerful winter storm that is currently drenching the Southeast will bring snow to the Mid-Atlantic states. The storm will drop its first snow Wednesday morning from West Virginia to New York. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has projected it could be the city's "biggest storm in several years." The peak of the storm is expected to come later Wednesday and into Thursday morning. Heavy snowfall is projected for areas across the Northeast, CNN meteorologist Pedram Javaheri said. Some areas, including Washington, DC will instead see a wintry mix.

  • COVID-19 Antibodies Found In US Blood Samples From Early January 2020

    The coronavirus was likely in the U.S. as early as mid-December 2019. This is roughly a month before the first COVID-19 case was confirmed. A study was taken of blood samples from 7,389 routine donations to the American Red Cross. The donations were collected between Dec. 13, 2019, and Jan. 17, 2020. The study found evidence of COVID-19 antibodies in 106 specimens, according to HuffPost. The blood came from California, Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington and Wisconsin.
