Facebook Admits To Tracking Calls & Texts But Says Users Allowed It

Android users discovered Facebook has data on their call and text history. This added fuel to the fire over Facebook’s recent Cambridge Analytica scandal. Facebook confirmed the feature but says it's is only used when users give permission. Facebook posted a statement saying, "Call and text history logging is part of an opt-in feature." Facebook claims the feature was used to import contacts to Messenger and Messenger Lite. But users were surprised the tool also tracked who they called and when.
