Lin-Manuel Miranda has signed on to write the music for Walt Disney Animation Studios' new animated feature "Encanto." Disney took to Twitter to describe "Encanto." "Encanto takes you to Colombia, where a magical family live in a magical home," Disney announced on Twitter. Amid President Donald Trump's frantic tweets demanding a stop to voting, Twitter itself is being sued for not suspending Trump's account. Business Insider reports the suit comes from two national, nonpartisan organizations. They're calling for CEO Jack Dorsey to temporarily suspend Trump's Twitter account over multiple violations of the company's civic integrity policy. The president has made various tweets in the last few days including baseless claims of election fraud and prematurely declaring victory. Twitter announced well ahead of Election Day that it would add labels to tweets that included misleading content. But the joint letter states that doing so 'does not go far enough' as the results of the 2020 presidential election remain unofficial.
When it comes to his Cabinet, President Donald Trump has certainly lived up to his 'Celebrity Apprentice' catchphrase, 'You're fired.' Whether they left because they resigned or were fired, the list of former Trump officials who say they'll be voting for Democratic opponent Joe Biden is growing. According to Business Insider, some have joined anti-Trump political coalitions such as The Lincoln Project, Republican Voters Against Trump, and others. Hoping to sway the votes of independent, undecided, and moderate Republicans, they've spent millions on campaign ads to oust Trump from the White House. Former DHS chief of staff Miles Taylor called working under Trump 'terrifying," saying many things Trump wanted the department to do were illegal. Former White House communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, says he'll be voting for Biden. And former national security adviser John Bolton won't be voting for Trump or Biden. Instead, he'll write in the name of a conservative candidate.
On Sunday, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden held an online campaign event. During the event he very-clearly mixes up President Donald Trump and former President George Bush. At the event Biden warned against "four more years of George" when telling people why they should vote for him. It's not clear which former president Biden was referring to. Business Insider reports that Biden's wife Jill had to gently remind the former VP that he was running against Donald Trump.
President Donald Trump let fly against demonstrators in Portland, Oregon, on Sunday evening, who were protesting against the perceived racism of Columbus Day. Crowds dispersed on Sunday evening after police designated the gathering as a riot and appeared to make several arrests. According to Business Insider, Trump doubled down on his 'law and order' campaign rhetoric Monday morning. Referring to protesters as 'animals,' Trump retweeted a video of the protests, in which statues of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt were toppled. He also got a jab in at the Great State of California, tweeting that it was 'going to hell' and exhorted, 'Vote Trump!'
Today show host Billy Bush has been suspended over the 2005 tape in which Donald Trump makes lewd remarks about women. Paul Chapman reports.
