'Game Of Thrones' Season 8 Premiere Leak

Description

Winter arrived for subscribers of DirecTV Now for just a moment, says Comicbook.com. Subscribers received a notification that the Game of Thrones Season Eight premiere had been uploaded. Fans took to social media to share the fact that they were taking full advantage of the leak. It's not clear whether the "leak" was a mistake on the part of DirecTV or was part of guerilla marketing efforts. With how secretive HBO has been about the show's finale season, it's likely a mistake on the part of DirecTV. Nothing is for sure in the age of digital media and viral marketing, though. The episode was quickly pulled off although it's possible enough people caught it to spread spoilers. Game of Thrones airs Sunday nights at 9/8 p.m. Central on HBO.

The Sunday Times published a passive-aggressive review about Sky Atlantic and the HBO series, even though they were not among the critics and writers invited to a viewing party. So what did they write if they didn't even know whether the season premiere was any good? A portion of the review, which is titled "Winter Is Here, Maybe" reads as follows: "We have no idea if this week's episode is any good, but we asked people who were at the launch and their response was: ‘It's OK, nothing great, bit of sex, but not much happens this week."
