The new CUPRA Formentor builds on the proportions and design details that have made the Crossover SUV such a huge success. The vehicle’s aesthetic and overall package that helped it win the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2021 have been accentuated and amplified, delivering an emotional, striking, and sporty visual.The new CUPRA Formentor introduces the new CUPRA design language DNA, with the shark-nose front end, triangular matrix LED headlights and big, bold lower mouth. The front of the new CUPRA Formentor is strong and determined, integrating the CUPRA logo directly on to the bonnet above the large front grille and bookmarked by the optional matrix LED front headlights that incorporate the signature design – three illuminated triangles framed within a triangle.The front-end design adds the strength of expression and a sense of width while thin air-intake slots below the shark nose add technicality and sophistication. The grille mesh is open to deliver both form and function, a necessity in a performance car.As the eye shifts to the side design details, the new CUPRA Formentor’s athletic proportions and character becomes even more evident. Its dynamic, well-balanced volume sits on the proportionally sized wheels – there are a range of eight different alloy wheels between 18 and 19’’.
Tony D'Alberto was forced to fight back through the pack in another up-and-down weekend of TCR Australia racing at Phillip Island on the weekend.The Honda Civic Type R TCR driver was the fastest in practice and proved far too good for his rivals in qualifying, outpacing the field by nearly half a second in another blistering performance. His lap time was the fastest-ever TCR lap recorded around the famous Island venue.D’Alberto’s weekend was thrown on its head at the fourth corner of the first race when he was tagged awkwardly by Honda stablemate Brad Harris and Hyundai driver Josh Bucan. The incident sent Tony’s Honda FL5 off the track and into last place.With the bit between his teeth, D'Alberto started a sensational recovery drive in the final two races on Sunday, finishing eighth in Race 2 and a fine fourth in Race 3.D'Alberto says that the speed of his Honda is on point – he just needs a little luck to bring home more trophies.
