CUPRA is pushing the limits with its most radical interpretation of an urban electric car. The race car mixes pure electrification, sustainability and performance with the exciting aesthetics of the virtual world. The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept gives an idea of the future design language of the urban electric vehicle, which will be launched in 2025.Racing is at the core of CUPRA’s DNA and that’s why the company decided to present the vision of its 100% all-electric urban vehicle first as a race car with bold and sharp looks: the CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept. The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept builds on the design foundations of the 100% electric urban vehicle, that will be launched in 2025. The road version will mix astonishing design and amazing dynamics and will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB short platform. It represents a revolution in the brand towards a more progressive design language, while maintaining the values that identify each CUPRA model: its sportiness and character making it an unconventional challenger brand.
CUPRA injects its DNA into the CUPRA Tavascan Extreme E Concept. The all-electric off-road racing car is the next stage in the brand’s Extreme E adventure, which also hints at the design language to be used in the future series production CUPRA Tavascan, the brand’s second 100% electric model based that will be designed and developed in Barcelona and will reach Europe and overseas markets in 2024.
It was the surprise of the IAA International Motor Show in Munich. CUPRA presented its new design vision with a racing-inspired show car that lays the foundation for its future 100% electric city car. But the CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept isn’t just a show car. For the first time, we see it on the test track, driven by CUPRA Vice-president for R&D, Dr. Werner Tietz.-From the showroom to the track. CUPRA’s new concept car emerges as the brand’s most radical interpretation after its unveiling; a vehicle where electrification meets sustainability and performance. And to prove it, there’s nothing better than taking it out of the showroom and seeing its racing spirit on the track first-hand.
CUPRA has begun the series production of its first 100% electric car, the CUPRA Born, at the Zwickau plant in Germany. CEO Wayne Griffiths and the company's Board Members visited Europe's largest electric vehicle plant to mark the start of production of the new model. They were welcomed by Stefan Loth, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Saxony and former head of the Martorell plant. The production of the CUPRA Born marks the start of a new era for the brand, which at the 2021 Munich International Motor Show (IAA) announced an electric offensive with the ambition to becoming a fully electric brand by 2030.
