"As of midnight, the gatekeepers are required to prove that they are complying with the DMA (Digital Markets Act)", says Johannes Bahrke, EU spokesperson. Brussels is determined to create a more competitive online field that allows smaller players to flourish by ushering in a list of do's and don'ts for six so-called "gatekeepers" designated by the EU: Apple, Amazon, Google owner Alphabet, TikTok parent ByteDance, Meta and Microsoft.
